The 2018 NW Natural Parade of Homes is coming up in September and we have 10 amazing homes that will make this year’s show absolutely a must see! In our first blog of the season, we highlight one of the Soaring Eagle Homes entries…. The Maker. This 2,300 square foot home will exemplify a perspective not often seen in a Parade of Homes setting – in that it reflects an industrial and warm modern appeal!
Husband and wife builder team Matthew and Cheri Clarkson, owners of Soaring Eagle Homes, worked with the clients, Scott and Alison Higgins, on the exciting design. “Alison and Scott wanted to create a theme that was contemporary, modern and harkens back to a warehouse and industrial feel – yet be warm and inviting,” noted Clarkson. “When you enter the home you will be immediately struck by the exposed structural steel beam, concrete tiles, hardwood floors and even a polished concrete floor on the lower level. Little side note – Scott Higgins, who is also the Mayor of Camas, is excited to showcase the home and be part of the NW Natural Parade of Homes!
The Maker – a name that comes from the heritage and background from Camas’ paper making history is perfectly reflected in this design. Additionally, Clarkson talked about the expansive outdoor recreation setting, outdoor living amenities and crafting a sense of privacy. “The client wanted to capture a three-season outdoor living approach with retractable screens where entertaining could occur during spring, summer and fall and I believe we will be successful!”
In every sense, this is an intentional home by design which incorporates, universal living standards (being able to live on the main level if needed), dedicated craft room for hobbies, plenty of open shelving for displays, and a robust kitchen for entertaining. “The public will find this home a show stopper, the client will find this home the perfect place to live for decades to come – for me that’s the perfect NW Natural Parade of Homes experience,” said Clarkson.
